Hi, I am Lisa!

I believe that all children should be able to grow to reach their full potential and I am on a mission to take the stress out of feeding time!

As a busy mum myself, I know the challenges and frustrations you are experiencing, but dont worry!

I am here to help!

Lisa McDonagh

Experience

I currently works for the NHS as an eating disorders lead and paediatric specialist. I have previously worked at an internationally renowned  university teaching hospital that provides tertiary care to the East of England. I have also worked in acute care across three major university teaching hospitals which has given me an excellent grounding and knowledge base within the speciality of paediatrics.

I have also spent time working in the community setting and in public health in paediatric and maternal healthcare.

Prior to training as a dietitian; I worked across East Amber Valley providing breastfeeding support to families, it is my love for good nutrition and supporting the family unit that lead me to train in the field of dietetics.

Expertise

I prefer to dedicate the majority of my time to neonatal and paediatric care and I am able to treat patients with a wide range of clinical conditions such as poor growth, breastfeeding issues,  chronic lung disease, cardiac conditions, genetic conditions, coeliac disease, cancer, reflux, cow's milk protein allergy, neurodisability, poor feed tolerance, eating disorders and extreme selective eating.

I am registered with the following professional bodies; Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC), International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), and I am a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), The British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) and Lactation Consultants of Great Britain, La Leche League UK,  Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and The Breastfeeding Network.

Areas of Interest

Providing good nutrition to support growth and development is very important to me, I have a keen interest in blended diet via gastrostomy, caring for ex preterm babies, supporting breastfeeding families and children with complex feeding issues.

I have always had a passion for  supporting families with feeding issues and so I trained as an SOS feeding therapist and a lactation consultant.
